Pricing Information- Probate MPS

In accordance with the Solicitors Regulation Authority’s Transparency Rules we have set out below our average fees for assisting you to conclusion with the listed probate matters. The fees apply where there are no complex issue arising from the estate.

We can assist you with the following:

Obtaining Grant of Probate or Letters of Administration only. (Please note that we will not be administering the estate if you opt for this).
Administration of the whole estate

£250,000-£325,000	Average £1200 to £1500 Plus Vat
Above £325,000	Average £1350 to £1,800 Plus Vat (where no inheritance tax is payable)

Administration of the whole estate

VALUE ADDED TAX

The fees quoted above are exclusive of VAT. We are required to charge VAT at the current rate of 20% in addition to the legal fees quoted.

DISBURSEMENTS FEES

In addition to the above, there are disbursements fees. We shall provide you with full details in our written quotation and client care letter subsequently. Disbursements are fees paid to third parties on your behalf, they are not our charges. See table below for list of disbursements. Do note that this is not an exhaustive list.

ADDITIONAL COSTS

We will keep you fully informed where you are required to pay additional costs due to the complex nature of the estate or works to be undertaken. We will provide a tailored quote on an individual basis at the outset. Please note that in addition to the fees quote above, there will be additional charges for the following scenarios:

Where the estate is contested
Where we are dealing with property transactions such as: sale, purchase, transfer or first registration.
Estate comprising of Stocks/Bonds
Estate worth over £3,000.000.
Estate where inheritance tax is payable
Estate that involves dealing with company/shareholdings
Estate that involves businesses or agricultural land and property
Estate with foreign assets or assets outside England/Wales
Estate consisting of more than one property
Estate where the deceased was entitled under a trust which terminates on death
Where there is threat of litigation against the estate
Deeds of Variation to the estate
Where there is a disclaimer or renunciation by Executors
Dealing with Caveats
Estate requiring registration in the Trust Registration scheme
Estate having minor as beneficiaries
Assets of a specialised nature, e.g. fine art
Estate which requires creation of trust

Do note the above is not an exhaustive list. However, we would always keep you fully informed where the transaction would attract any increase in the fees.

SOLICITOR RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR CASE

Your matter will be handled by the Principal Solicitor who has been a practising solicitor for several years. In addition, we also have paralegals and caseworkers who carry out work on case files under the supervision of the Principal Solicitor.
